Toyota Camry (XV70): Inspection
INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection | Condition |
Specified Condition |
1 - 2 | 20°C (68°F) |
33 to 39 Ω |
1 - No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS) body ground |
Always |
10 kΩ or higher |
2 - No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS) body ground |
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS). |

(b) Check the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS) operation.
(1) When vacuum is applied to the port (E), check that air is sucked into the filter.
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS). |

DESCRIPTION The VVT sensor (for exhaust camshaft) (EV1, EV2 signal) consists of a magnet and MRE (Magneto Resistance Element).
The exhaust camshaft has a timing rotor for the VVT sensor. When the exhaust camshaft rotates, changes occur in the air gaps between the timing rotor and MRE, which affect
