Toyota Camry (XV70): Dtc Check / Clear

DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC CHECK

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Read the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

Chassis > Brake > Trouble Codes

(f) Check the details of the DTCs.

NOTICE:

  • Make sure to clear the DTCs after repair.
  • The vehicle stability control system outputs DTCs for the following system. When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the vehicle stability control system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant system.

Description

Test Failed

Shows the malfunction judgment results during the current trip.

Confirmed

Shows the DTCs confirmed up to now (The number of current trips differs for each DTC.)

  • Freeze frame data is stored for each of the latest result DTCs and confirmed DTCs.
  • Refer to the diagnostic trouble code chart and perform the necessary troubleshooting procedures.

(g) Check the freeze frame data.

(1) If a DTC is stored, check the corresponding freeze frame data to gain an understanding of the vehicle condition at the time.

CHECK TIME STAMP

HINT:

By checking Time Stamp, the time and order in which DTCs were stored in an ECU can be checked.

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Health Check.

(f) Perform the following steps when the data setting screen is displayed.

(g) Select the systems for which to perform Health Check and check for time stamp data.

Selectable items:
  • Powertrain
  • Chassis
  • Body
  • Store All Data

(h) Select "Yes" when "Would you like to include Time Stamp Data?" is displayed.

HINT:

If "Yes" is not selected, time stamp data will not be stored.

(i) After Health Check has completed, select "Time Stamp Data" to display the Time Stamp screen.

(j) Select the desired system from the drop-down list on the bottom of the Time Stamp screen.

(k) Check the order and time which DTCs were stored for the selected system.

DTC CLEAR

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

Chassis > Brake > Clear DTCs

(f) Press the DTC clear button.

NOTICE:

When DTCs are cleared, all data related to the DTCs is also cleared.

HINT:

If the malfunction continues, the DTCs will be stored again when the detection conditions are met.
