Toyota Camry (XV70): Removal

REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during fuel pump control ECU removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
  • Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

  • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  • If an airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious injury.

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

11. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH (for Fold Down Seat Type)

12. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT SET

20. REMOVE FUEL PUMP CONTROL ECU

(a) Disconnect the 2 fuel pump control ECU connectors.

(b) Remove the nut and fuel pump control ECU from the vehicle body.

NOTICE:

Do not reuse the fuel pump control ECU if it has been dropped or subjected to a severe impact.

21. REMOVE FUEL PUMP CONTROL ECU BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and fuel pump control ECU bracket from the fuel pump control ECU.
