Right Electric Parking Brake Actuator Control Circuit Short to Battery

  • Diagnosis Condition:

    Electric parking brake not operating

  • Malfunction Status:

    The ECU power supply is normal but there is a malfunction in the electric parking brake actuator RH internal circuit (short to +B).

  • Detection Time:

    Approximately 0.015 to 0.195 seconds (depending on each malfunction)

  • Parking brake actuator assembly RH
  • No. 1 parking brake wire assembly
  • Wire harness or connector
  • Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

DTC stored

An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Make sure the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.

(c) Disconnect the u1 parking brake actuator assembly RH connector.

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B

(a) Disconnect the uR2 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B

(a) Disconnect the uR2 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the A34 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
