Toyota Camry (XV70): Removal

REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) removal/installation are shown below.

1. REMOVE BATTERY

5. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

10. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

11. REMOVE FLOW SHUTTING VALVE (NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE)

(a) Disengage the 3 clamps to remove the transmission breather clamp.

(b) Disengage the 3 clamps to remove the hose clamp.

(c) Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) and transmission breather hose from the hose clamp.

(d) Slide the clip and disconnect the flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) from the water outlet.

HINT:

Use a container to catch any engine coolant which flows out of the flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) and water outlet.

(e) Slide the clip and disconnect the flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) from the transmission oil cooler.

HINT:

Use a container to catch any engine coolant which flows out of the flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose) and transmission oil cooler.

(f) Disconnect the flow shutting valve connector.

(g) Remove the bolt and flow shutting valve (No. 1 water by-pass hose).
